As someone who’s been a strict planner my whole life, the decision to move to and enjoy a Philippine retirement lifestyle didn’t come on a whim. Discovering the perks and advantages of living in a particular country can be the deciding factor in how fast you will buy a flight ticket.

Enjoy the Philippine retirement lifestyle every day.

How different is life compared to the US? What are the prices? What kind of activities does it offer after so I can enjoy the Philippine retirement lifestyle? I had a myriad of questions, and today I’m sharing my insights with you. These are the top five reasons you should live in the Philippines and why I also decided to stay.

1. Enjoy the Philippine retirement lifestyle in the low-cost tropical paradise.

While it depends on your lifestyle and appetites, I find my monthly expenses to be reasonable. When I arrived, I couldn’t believe that I will get to live in this mesmerizing country with a thriving economy. With affordable goods and services, I can go through a month living comfortably at $800. Believe it or not, that includes dining out and even travel within the country. It turned out that Numbeo statistics were telling the truth. – Consumer prices, including rent, are 119.15 percent higher in the US than in the Philippines.

For example, when you retire and become part of the Philippine retirement lifestyle, you rent an apartment with three rooms in the city center, you will pay $713.19, while in the US, you will give $2.166.20. Quite a difference, isn’t it? However, remember that wherever you go, big cities will always be more expensive. Hence, if you want to save more money for other utilities, choose to settle in the outlying areas.

Besides, you don’t have to worry about the tax situation because the Philippines doesn’t tax foreign pensions, annuity income, and Social security. And if you wonder about the probably crucial question – the residency, the government gives convenient options. There is a Special Resident Retiree’s Visa for those at least 50 years old and whose monthly pension is at least $800. Thus, to receive the Philippine retirement lifestyle, this visa comes with PhilHealth, which stands for the government’s health care program. If you worry about the Philippines’ medical facilities, I can assure you that they’re much better than in the US in many cases. Doctors and nurses here have a friendly and warm approach, and most of them go abroad for training and apprenticeships.

2. EXOTIC AND SERENE ARCHIPELAGO COUNTRY.

The compelling nature and sceneries probably make you consider the Philippines the first choice to have the Philippine retirement lifestyle. There is rich biodiversity in this tropical gem, and it’s sunny most of the year. The islands allow you to choose between serene and calm spots, such as Palawan, and those with more activities and nightlife like Boracay.

But pristine beaches and coral reefs are not the only wonders the Philippines can offer. Instead, you will discover mangrove forests, hills and mountains, and rice terraces. Therefore, there is always a new place to go and explore. Besides, if you want to relax and dive into your native spirit, you should check all the wellness centers and spas. Imagine combining a soothing sunset on the beach with massage therapy that takes all the problems away. That can be a part of your daily routine in the Philippines!

3. Philippine retirement lifestyle makes communication easy.

Having no language barriers is one of the top reasons why you should live in the Philippines. – There are two official languages here – Filipino and English. It will be easier for you to adapt to the new environment and life with that in mind. Although new languages enrich our inner worlds, you won’t have to struggle to learn Filipino if you don’t want to. Filipino people have an excellent command of the English language since it’s taught in schools. So, if you want to start a family or bring your kids to this sandy paradise, they will also adjust with more ease.

4. Friendly and welcoming Filippino people help you thrive in the Philippine retirement lifestyle.

Whether it’s due to living on a sunny island or their DNK, Filipinos are warm and welcoming people. The Philippines are known for their hospitality, retirement advantages, and friendliness, which I have the chance to confirm every day. Since my first day, I meet many people who were helpful without me asking. That might be because they nurture close family relationships, and they treat their friends and neighbors as if they were family.

5. A VIBRANT CLASH OF LOCAL AND GLOBAL CUISINE

To all the foodie lovers, I admit that even after a tough day, looking forward to a new Filipino dish is what makes me eager to wake up. With the Chinese and Spanish influences, the Philippines has a diverse cuisine with dishes worldwide. Throughout the centuries, the clash of cultures introduced American, Japanese, Southeast Asian, and Arabic flavors. With both local restaurants and those offering authentic, ethnic cuisine, the only difficulty you’ll have here is choosing where to eat.
